My Story

Winnie is a three year old, 48-pound German Short-haired pointer mixed with something stubby. You’re guess is as good as ours. She came to us bedraggled and in rough condition from a very rural shelter. She had clearly been attacked by something that ripped her ear apart and she was a beaten up wreck. Six months later, and she is healthy and happy.

Winnie is a unique dog who loves her people. She is active and eager to please and very quick to master new things. She is well-mannered generally and likes to socialize with her people. She is, however, not predictable with dogs and she must be an only dog. We suspect her previous encounters with dogs may have set her on this path and she’s just never going to trust other dogs and it is best that she be the only. She is also not a dog for homes with cats.

She is otherwise a very good dog. She needs a home with a fenced yard and kids over 10. She will make a great dog for an active family who wants to romp in the yard with a dog. She is also completely happy to pass out on a dog bed while you binge watch trashy movies.
