My Story

Everyone say hello to SAIGE!

Saige is a 9-month old whippet/boxer mix weighing around 42 pounds. She loves humans more than other dogs but can be in a home with a calmer more patient pup that will allow Saige to reach her full potential and show her how to dog. However, Saige prefers not to share space with felines. Saige also can be a little nervous with tall, intimidating looking men (perhaps because of her unknown past), however, she is in a foster home with an intimidating man and she warmed up pretty quickly to him with some time and patience!

Saige absolutely will be loyal to who she deems her person and needs a person that will be active and willing to work with Saige on her leash skills and basic obedience. She still has some of her puppy manners when it comes to understanding what is a toy and what is a household item, so her adopter will have to be patient in allowing Saige to get comfortable with her environment and continuing her training.

Saige’s fosters say her best qualities are that she is sweet, smart, cuddly, and playful! The perfect home for Saige would be a previous dog owner that is prepared to work through her naughty puppy traits and help her blossom into the smart and dignified pup that we all know she can be! She would do best with a fenced yard or with a dedicated leash walker as she does have a lot of energy and loves to run! She would also love to be showered in toys (what puppy wouldn’t?)
