My Story

Are you looking to get your fitness on and run your first marathon in 2025? … No? Good! Neither is Rufus!

Rufus is a ~5 year old, 120lb Leonberger who hears you say exercise… but prefers “extra fries”! He’s a 1/10 on the energy scale and embodies a true house sloth personality. He eats, sleeps, receives pets, and goes back to sleep.

He is good with all creatures and peacefully coexists in the home with everyone from old cranky seniors to rowdy foster puppies. Rufus is a kind, old soul who is gentle with people, somewhat aloof in personality and is appreciative of life’s simple comforts (comfy bed & cool whip from the can!) A quiet home would be his dream.

Rufus has idiopathic epilepsy that is controlled by medication. He has a seizure once every couple months and will remain on a few medications for the duration of his life. One side effect of these meds is occasional urinary incontinence. People who are home more often than not and/or a dog door would be great for this guy!

Rufus’ adoption fee is waived to find his perfect forever home!

Located in Baltimore, MD and can travel within a reasonable driving distance!
