Poncho
My Story
This little nugget is Poncho. Poncho is a 2-year old Chihuahua that weighs less than 10 pounds. Poncho has gone on quite the journey in his young life! He was rescued from a hoarding case and ended up having to be evacuated on the eve of a hurricane.
Poncho has learned how to be a house pet, which was a novel concept for him. He is crate-trained and housebroken. He started out not being able to be touched but now will approach his people for pets and snuggles. He still isn’t a fan of being picked up, but he will happily crawl onto your chest for a nap.
Strangers still make Poncho nervous, so he will need an owner who will give him the time and patience he needs to settle in. A quieter home without a lot of comings and goings would be best for him. Poncho should be in a home with kids in the teen years and up. He is also much more comfortable when he has another dog (or several) to pal around with and show him the ropes, so he must go to a home with other dogs.
Poncho’s true personality has started to shine through and he is a little spitfire! He loves playing “chase” with the other dogs around the house, running zoomies in the yard, and throwing around his toys. For those who know and love the Chihuahua breed, Poncho broke the mold. He deserves a forever home that will understand and accept him and continue to help him blossom; one where he can be spoiled for the rest of his days like the little Prince that he is.
