Orion
My Story
Orion is a 3-year-old, 80 pound Great Pyrenees. Orion was living in a 10 x 10 pen with very little human interaction because people can suck sometimes. A good Samaritan talked the owner out of this dog and got him to us.
Orion is a very sweet dog. He is still shy and probably always will be, but he has learned that people are good and that they will have food for him every single day. He has learned that it is always dry inside and 72 degrees with a soft bed to call his own. He’s taken to indoor living like a champ and is housebroken and is generally well-mannered. He will require a securely fenced yard as he has inherited the Pyrenees love of wandering. Understanding what a Great Pyrenees does and was bred to do is the key to a happy life with them. These dogs were bred to guard sheep and even the worst guardian of the lot is still always aware of what’s going on and thinks they know more than you do.
Orion is an intrinsically sweet dog and he needs a home with another dog to pattern after. He is good with calm dogs and wants to play once he is accustomed to them, but he does not enjoy roughhousing. He tested fine with cats. Kids over 8 would be best for Orion. He needs a calm home with people who are wise enough to let a dog learn to love them. He is the kind of dog that will give his heart and soul to his family, but he waits to be sure it’s a good idea first. Smart boy. He is eager to please and if given time and attention will be the love of someone’s life.
