Norbert
My Story
Norbert is a 7-year-old, 80-pound husky/Great Pyrenees mix and he is a head turner for sure. You will be stopped by people on the street who want to admire the Blue Steel gaze of Norbert. Norbert correctly believes that the world exists to pet him.
Norbert is good with people past the screaming years but other dogs confuse him so he needs a home without them. I also would not trust him with cats or small woodland creatures. I have no proof of this and we may be defaming him, but huskies and cats rarely mix. He is absolutely 100% untrustworthy off-leash and needs a securely fenced yard. Norbert believes that his beauty should be shared and without a fence, he will wander around looking for it. He is moderately active and is capable of bursts of speed followed by intense periods of slothfulness. He has good manners generally and is a really nice dog.
The key to understanding Norbert is to grasp what it means to be a sled dog mixed with a flock guardian. You will get a sweet, stubborn, intelligent dog who has an agenda and knows what you said and doesn’t care. Basically, it’s like being married. If you can manage that, you can manage him. Norbert will make a fantastic pet for the right home.
