My Story

Meet Merrick, our Great Pyrenees who came in to rescue back in the spring with the giant tumor on his face and neck. In addition to the removal of the tumor (which was benign) he was heartworm positive and lyme positive. Several months later, and voila! New dog, doing great and ready to go home.

Merrick is a 2 year old, 85 pound Great Pyrenees. He is happy, social, playful and friendly. He is good with other dogs and he is indifferent to the cats. They feel much the same. He will do very well in a home with a fenced yard and a dog friend to hang out with. Merrick would be best with kids 10 and up as he is a touch too exuberant for small children. Unless your child is a lumberjack, then OK. He is a Great Pyrenees in every sense of the word, so be prepared for a dog that is terrible off leash, knows what you want and doesn’t care. Basically, a teenager.

Merrick is in Nashville and can travel where we do. Interested would-be adopters should email rakhee@bigfluffydogs.com and apply fill out an application.
