My Story

Please meet the very lovely Lumia (aka Light in Latin!)

Lumia is a 7 year old Heinz 57 hippo mix weighing about 60lbs looking for her furever home. Unfortunately, Lumia finds herself with Big Fluffy due to no fault of her own. Lumia’s mom found herself in a terrible situation that involved some abuse and the FBI and unfortunately, she had to surrender her dogs in order to get herself safe. It’s a terrible situation all around, but Lumia has not let it get her down.

Some important things to know about Lumia:

1. She loves snow so much that she she enjoys making it snow in the house with her stuffies!

2. She loves other dogs and isn’t opposed to giving them lots of kisses to show her appreciation!

3. She is kid tested kid approved with ages 6+!

4. She loves a little romp around the yard but is not totally opposed to a good cuddle on the couch!

5. Lumia has also perfected the ASPCA look and her foster mom said that you shouldn’t look directly into Lumia’s eyes unless you’re willing to give up your sandwich to her!
