My Story

LJ is a 4-year-old, 75-pound German Shepherd that came to us out of a shelter with an injury and a clear history of neglect. LJ arrived emaciated and with an ear damaged from frostbite. It took us a while to get LJ pieced together, but he is healthy and happy, and ready to go home.

LJ is good with people over the age of 10 and he is social and happy. He is probably best in a home with people that know and love the German Shepherd breed because he does shepherd things, like demand balls.

LJ is good with dogs and not so good with cats. He is extremely sweet and gentle with his humans. He melts into his people with his shepherd’s lean and steals their hearts. Balls, soft toys, snuffle mats, and hide-and-seek toys are just some of his favorites. He loves to play with balls of all kinds but he likes to pop some of them. He loves going on long slow walks, catching snowballs and giant soft dog beds. He is so super ready for all these wonderful things in his new home.

LJ is super intelligent, learns commands effortlessly, and knows sit, come, shake, and lay. He is toy and ball driven and adores being told he is a good boy. He is moderately active without being hyper. He does need a home with a securely fenced yard. He will make someone a fantastic pet.
