My Story

Lachlan is a 2-year-old Great Pyr mix who came into our rescue as an emaciated wreck, skinny, and HW +. With the help of her amazing foster and our wonderful rescue, she is gaining weight, finishing up her HW treatments, and getting ready to be the queen that she deserves to be. Lachlan is playful, she loves to be groomed, and loves her people. Dog toys and dog beds are Lachlan-approved! The current tally is Toys 0, and Lachlan 2, and it isn’t looking good for Toy 3.
She is the first foster that has been allowed to sleep in the bedroom with the foster, and sleeps through the night quietly… we won’t discuss the night that she found the dog in the mirror and was ready to wage war! Lachlan lives peacefully with foster’s cats, even their thug kitty. Visiting dogs are fun and she has done beautifully with both males and females. Lachlan IS part Pyr, so recall depends on whether or not she agrees with your current inclination to request her presence. I’ll tell you that when she bounces over with her huge grin and wagging tail it is easy to forget that you just called her three times. Did I mention that she’s never had an accident in the house or her crate, even when on the higher doses of prednisone as part of the heartworm treatment?

Okay, here are the facts:
Lachlan wraps up her heartworm regimen on Oct 9th and can travel on transport on the 13th.
She is from a hoarding situation, despite being 2 years old she still has a lot to learn about being a dog.

We are looking for a home for this wonderful dog without small children. She startles very easily, and we don’t think she’d do well with erratic or screaming children. Lachlan will do best with someone that is comfortable handling a timid dog and helping her increase her confidence. For a family that is willing to give her the right environment, she is going to make an amazing and sweet companion.
