My Story

This handsome guy is Dante. He didn’t have a very good start to life, but thankfully things are looking up!

Before coming to Big Fluffy, Dante was living life outside on a chain 24/7. Rain, sleet, mud, sun — no matter what, he only had a small doghouse for shelter. Thankfully, a former Big Fluffy adopter was able to convince his owners to surrender him, and he’s never looking back!

Dante is a 6-9 month old Lab/Aussie mix, who weighs about 45 pounds. He’s a bit thin, so he can certainly gain a few. Given his past, he can be a bit unsure of new situations and surroundings initially, but he is quick to warm up and melts into people when getting affection. No wonder, as he hasn’t experienced love until now!

Dante will need a patient adopter who is willing to help him learn about the good life. He will need some help with house training, leash manners and basic obedience. He seems to be unsure what to do around other dogs, but he does get excited by them, so we imagine he’d be fine with a confident dog in the home. As of now, we’re suggesting a home with no young kids. A fenced yard would be ideal.
