My Story

Cantara is a 6 month old beagle weighing about 30 pounds right now. As the current mother of a beagle mix, I can tell you from personal experience that once a beagle deems you as worthy, you have a friend for life! Beagles are known to be the life of the party, adventurous, and always happy, and with the combination of those traits, you will never fail to smile and laugh every day! Cantara is the epitome of a beagle and once you become her person, by sheer stubbornness, she will make sure you stay her person and that you remember to enjoy every second of every day with her right by your side!

Cantara came to us from a disgustingly rough start and almost did not make it. We found her extremely emaciated (15 pounds less then optimal weight), and she had unknown animal bite wounds around her neck. Thanks to our volunteers and medical staff, Cantara has made a full recovery and is very excited to find her furever home where she can be showered in treats, compliments, belly rubs, and more treats! Cantara’s ideal home would be one with a physically fenced yard so she can run to her heart’s content, soak in the sun rays, and “befriend” any wildlife that dares to come into her yard.

Because Cantara had such a difficult start to life, her adopter is going to have to be dedicated to showing her and giving her the best life that she deserves which includes continuing her training and socialization so she can live the best and most well-deserved life! Cantara would make for a great hiking or running buddy, and would enjoy having a furry sibling to wrestle and lounge with!
