My Story

Baxter is a 2 year old, 72 pound, Great Pyrenees mix who came to us from a rural shelter. I am not sure what landed him in prison so to speak, but if I were a betting type, my money would be on chicken chasing.

Baxter is a friendly, happy and very social dog. He has zero natural enemies, loves everyone and everything and just wants to hang out and be friends. He is exuberant and bouncy and needs a fenced yard where he can run. He is absolutely untrustworthy off leash in the same way I am when in a chocolate shop. Baxter would do well with an active family who wants a friendly, social dog to go places with them. He has solid indoor manners and he is pretty good on a leash, although I highly recommend a leash like Walk Your Dog With Love for this guy. He can be OK with cats, but the cats generally have hated him. Your mileage may vary. Kids over 8 and dogs of a similar energy level would be good for him.
