My Story

“C’mon Bailey, won’t you just share a couple of your beauty secrets with us? Where did you get that eyeliner and how on earth do you put it on without opposable thumbs?”

Oh yeah, Bailey girl is a lovely girl! At a svelte 60 lbs.,and about 5 yrs. old, this Pyr/herding dog/spaniel mix is a cover girl through and through. She is not one to be all about her looks though and she doesn’t want her future family to be either. She clearly has some of those Border Collie genius genes and is very much career focused. In other words, she needs a job—agility, obedience, etc. . She has the herding skills and, unless you know these dogs like Border Collies, Aussies, and Shelties, those talents will stay undiscovered. If you do know these dogs, you know they can be mouthy players and nip at their charges only to ensure that they are headed in the right direction. Their intentions are good, but they can be misunderstood by the inexperienced. We would like Bailey to go to a family familiar with these breeds and one in which any children are over 12.

She already knows basic commands and will tap on the door to let you know she has some business to complete.

Because she is Pyr combo, she can do some of those livestock guardian things, too, like patrol your fence line for you and scare off those ominous squirrel gangs that, otherwise, could well terrorize your defenseless acorns. She is house-trained and can be left loose in the house once she is clear about her new home and sees that you come back when you leave.

She is a great dog for those who know their livestock breeds, the guardians and the herders. She would like a fenced yard and some pets on the head or neck, or back. She does love those. If brains and beauty are your weaknesses, you need to fill out an application (no obligation) and contact jen.vargas@bigfluffydogs.com. Bailey would love to meet you.
