My Story

Adonis is a 14 week old Great Pyrenees mix puppy. This is a dog that will grow up to be intelligent, scheming and watchful and anyone adopting this puppy needs to understand what a Great Pyrenees is and what it was bred to do.

Great Pyrenees are intelligent, thinking dogs who always have a plan. It may not always be your plan, so people who want to adopt these dogs need to understand what you are getting. No teenager has ever successfully evaded a Great Pyrenees when sneaking out. These dogs are built in watchers and they miss nothing. They are generally untrustworthy off leash, they need a fenced yard, and they can be barky when they think you need to be alerted to something. These dogs were originally bred to guard sheep, and when there are no sheep to guard, they will guard you. Understanding that your dog thinks you’re a dumb sheep with no sense of self-preservation is the key to appreciating the Great Pyrenees. They are loyal to a fault, very sweet and nice, lovely dogs.

Adonis is a mixed breed so some of the Pyrenees traits are likely to be muted, but it’s best to understand what he is and could be before falling for the face. He is very friendly, social and well on his way to being a very good boy.
