Hope
My Story
Meet Hope — a 7-year-old Shepherd mix with seemingly nine lives.
Hope came to us in terrible shape. This trooper somehow survived a bullet to the head and an attack from a coyote. And on top of that trauma, she was heartworm positive. But now she is healed and learning about the joys of living in a loving home.
Hope’s foster mom says she is a big sweetie! She is completely housebroken and will even come find you to let you know if she needs to go outside. She is an excellent house guest and can be trusted alone without a crate. She’s not much of a barker, except when responding to the occasional neighborhood dog. She loves car rides, so feel free to take her on some errands or a long road trip. She also adores being brushed and cuddled.
While this girl sounds like a dream, she still has her quirks. Given her past, she is skittish around loud noises. She is also very nervous around other dogs given her past trauma, so she’d be most comfortable as the only dog in your home. She’s also nervous around cats, so unless you have one that keeps to himself, a cat-free home is best. A quieter home is preferred, and a fenced yard is ideal, as she enjoys a nice sun bath and a roll in the grass.
