My Story

Yogi Bear is a 5 year old, 100 pound Great Pyrenees. Yes, we know he stops traffic and he’s drop dead gorgeous, but know and understand the breed before you apply for this dog.

Great Pyrenees were bred to guard sheep. Absent sheep to guard, you are the sheep and it is your job to stay one step ahead of this dog. This is not a white retriever and this dog will not fetch a ball because he sees no point in picking something you you threw away.

Great Pyrenees bark and they shed. They do guardian type things. Like bark. They are also incredibly loyal companions and their feeling are hurt if you tell them they are a bad dog.

Yogi is good with people over 8, he is fine with dogs although he prefers that they not be in his face all the time. He is also fine with cats. This is a medium energy dog who is lazy a lot with occasional bursts of silliness. A fenced yard is a must for this dog and he is NOT trustworthy off leash.
