My Story

This gorgeous guy is Mongo. He is a 4 year old, 50 pound Dalmatian looking for his forever home. Mongo is a very social dog who wants to be with his people. As is typical for the breed, this is an athlete with a relatively high energy level who wants to do interesting things.

Mongo can get along with other dogs and is in fact besties with a young female dog, but he is not great at reading dog cues. For that reason, we think he is best as an only dog unless someone is very committed to working with him to integrate into the home and has an equally high energy, non dominant female dog for him to play with. He does have a high prey drive, so no cats, rabbits, tiny dogs etc.

Mongo has good indoor manners and is very intelligent and learns quickly. He would make a fantastic pet for someone who likes to hike/jog/paddle etc because he is up for all of that. At the end of the day, Mongo wants to collapse on your sofa and hang out with you while you watch Succession. This is a great dog for active families with a fenced yard to toss balls in, with kids over 8.
