My Story

Meet Owen. Owen is a 4yr old lovable dork of a Pyr who has every right not to be as sweet tempered as he is because in his past life some jackass starved him and he was shot him in the eye before he came to be a Big Fluffy Dog. But lovable he is – he is happy-go-lucky, gentle, and sweet – and gets along well with other dogs and pretty much all people over the age of 12. He is not a fan of cats, tho – thinks they are excellent fun to chase, so we think a cat-free home would be best for this boy.

He is housebroken but is not a fan of the crate. He’s been given free run of his foster’s house at night, however, with no surprises come morning. He will occasionally chew on things when bored, but giving him lots of toys helps with this issue.

Owen would do best in a home that understands Pyrs – he will bark to let you know that a squirrel hiccuped a mile down the road, and he has a pyr stubborn streak with the usual pyr selective hearing. He is a low-medium energy dog – a few daily walks and/or access to play sessions with other dogs will satisfy his need for exercise. A fenced in yard and another, friendly dog who can handle his size and playfulness would be ideal.
