My Story

Polar is a dork. This is a 1 year old Great Pyrenees who does not realize he is a 100 pound dork. Polar loves everyone and everything and he is well-mannered in the house, save for the occasional raid on unattended sandwiches. This dog has zero livestock potential and came to us because he sucked at livestock guarding. He is pretty good at guarding the remote.

Polar is good with other dogs and with cats. He would do very well with a family with kids over 6. As usual, knowing the breed counts for a lot and even though he’s a giant dork, he’s still a flock guardian which means you need to know what they do and don’t do. This is not a white golden retriever no matter what Oprah tells you her dogs are. These are independent, thoughtful, stubborn creatures who are silly and stoic and they are generally the worst obedience dogs ever.
Pyr rules apply – fenced yard, no electric fences period.
