My Story

This absolute stunner is Balto. We believe that he is a Husky and Golden Retriever mix. He is approximately 4 years old and weighs around 76 pounds.

Balto came to us from a rural TN shelter, but it is obvious that he had lived in a home before as he is extremely well mannered in the house. Balto is already housebroken and has no desire to shred your carpets or chew your furniture. He is much too dignified for those shenanigans. Balto is also crate trained and is fine staying in crate, but he has also been trustworthy left loose in the home while you are at work. He knows some basic commands like “sit” and “come” and is working on “down” and “stay”.

Balto enjoys being the life of the party and has never met a stranger, everyone is just a new friend as far as he is concerned. He loves all people and is great around kids of all ages. He has even shown the capacity to adjust his temperament when around the smallest or shyest of kids.

Balto also loves the company of other dogs. He enjoys trips to the dog park and doggy play dates. He is goofy and playful and very accepting of every other dog he meets while out an about. They can get in his face or jump on his head and he will just smile and ag his tail. He is a little more particular about which dogs he will share his home with, and would need slower introductions to four legged family members. While I think he would eventually get along with pretty much anyone, he does seem to prefer living with female dogs. Balto couldn’t care less about cats, and will pretty much just ignore them.

He walks nicely on leash and loves going for car rides! He has a longer coat that will need consistent grooming, but he enjoys being brushed and is fine taking bathes! He is a baby when it comes to having his nails trimmed, and doesn’t like his feet being held.

Overall this dog is close to perfect and would do well in almost any home with almost any family!
