My Story

Chutes came to us from an Arkansas shelter where she was on death row. We knew something about her was special because she was the happiest dog ever.  Chutes is a compact, adorable, loving dog. At first glance, you can tell she is a little unique. Chutes has muscular hypertrophy, which means she has double the muscles she should have. When dogs are bred to have more muscles than they should, like Chutes, it can lead to other problems. Chutes’ biggest issue is her narrowed throat passage, causing asthma. The muscles press, since there are double as many as there should be, and suffocate her. Thankfully, she has responded well to her treatments, and as long as they are maintained (2ish times a year), she is a-okay!

Chutes is house and crate trained. She LOVES dogs and people and snuggling with both is her favorite pastime. Chutes enjoys her kitty friends as well, and never turns down an opportunity to catch a smooch from her friends. Chutes is 4 years old, so she has a long life ahead of her yet.

Due to her hypertrophy, chutes needs a home with minimal stairs or an apartment with an elevator. She simply cannot climb a regular staircase every single day and can’t go to a home that would require this of her. She needs minimal exercise as well, so runners, this isn’t your dog. Keeping her cool would be a top priority as well, as she could overheat easily.
Chutes needs a new BFF and a couch to call her own, so if you think you fit the bill, email Amanda.lin@bigfluffydogs.com and submit an app today!
