OK kids, here is your before and after as promised. This is Gabby. Gabby weighed 31 pounds on arrival. She now weighs 77. Gabby nearly died of starvation and but for timely medical intervention, she would not have made it. You all helped us save her.
Now it’s time to find her a home. Gabby is a 3 year old shepherd mix. We know nothing about where she came from, but wherever it was, obviously it wasn’t good. She loves all people and she would do well with pretty much anyone. She is afraid of most other dogs and we think given her background and her understandable desire to assume that she needs to protect her food from other dogs, that she needs to be an only dog. This is not to suggest that she is a lunging snarling fiend. To the contrary, she assumes dogs are going to hurt her or steal her food. This may lessen with time, but I think she would be happiest as the lone dog in a household. So, single dog people looking for a dog that can be happy alone in your house, here you go.
Gabby is looking for a home anywhere we go. If you are interested in adopting or fostering Gabby, please fill out an application under the Adopt tab at www.bigfluffydogs.com and then email Rachel@bigfluffydogs.com.
Please spread the word. She deserves to find the home of her dream.
