My Story

Meet Rob Lowe. Rob is a 3-year-old, 72 pound Husky mixed probably with Rottweiller or maybe a shepherd mix who wants to be the life of your party. This dog came to us with an injured back foot and heartworms from way down south. After months of medical care and rehab, this drop-dead gorgeous boy is mended and ready to go home.

Rob is not good with other dogs and he believes small animals (cats, bunnies, and squirrels) are only good as tasty snacks, so he will need to be an only pet. He is high energy which is pretty typical for dogs of his breed mix and he will absolutely need a home with a fenced yard and someone who wants to throw a ball. He is absolutely lovely with people, even small people over the age of 8. He is well mannered and housebroken but will steal an unattended sandwich as he is intelligent and mischievous.

Rob is an active dog whose favorite pastimes are playing ball, playing with toys, hiking, swimming, and running. He requires toys so consider yourself warned. Similar to his Husky ancestors, he is very smart and is quick to learn and please. This is not a dog for a slug whose idea of activity is a stroll to the mailbox but he’ll do well with most families.

Rob was diagnosed with Lupus so he will need a family that can keep up with his medical needs.
