My Story

Blue is aptly named, and you can’t help but to get lost in his soulful blue eyes. This distinguished gentleman came to us when his elderly owner passed away. They were each other’s whole world, and Blue was devastated and confused at first. He has spent some time in his foster home readjusting, and is now ready for his new forever home. It may take him a bit to warm up to a new place and new people, but he warms up quickly with some love and patience. He is approximately 6 years old and around 90 pounds. He loves hanging out in the yard or going on leisurely walks around the neighborhood and is very well behaved on leash. He is a mellow boy who enjoys napping in his crate and doesn’t need a ton of exercise. He loves his toys and has a favorite stuffed fox that he carries with him everywhere. He met cats at our kennel and didn’t seem to care much, but we would suggest careful intros to any feline family members. He has not spent much time around kids, and due to his quiet nature and large size we think older kids would be best. He needs slow intros to other dogs, and doesn’t do well with bossy dogs, but he currently lives with another male dog and they get along fine now. Blue’s ideal home would be a somewhat quiet household where his people could be home with him as much as possible. Someone who enjoys a good stroll, but isn’t looking for an athletic dog. He would be fine as an only dog or with one other mellow doggy companion. This boy has had a lot of upheaval in his life and we would love for him to land someplace where he can live the rest of his days peacefully with people who adore him as much as his previous owner did. If you think Blue is the boy for you, please fill out an adoption application.
