Meet Nova, a 10-month-old Lab mix. She’s about 55 pounds of soft fur and impeccable manners and is the kind of girl who floats through life with gentle grace and just the right amount of soulful side-eye.
Nova came to us after a domestic violence situation, and despite all that, she hasn’t lost her sweetness or trust. She’s wonderful with everyone, including people with proper inside voices, dogs, cats, and probably even the UPS guy. She doesn’t need excitement or noise and she would prefer a Lebowski level home where she can just abide. Her perfect day includes a soft sofa, a snack or two, some petting, and a peaceful home where she can finally relax.
She’s not demanding, and she is just quietly grateful which frankly bugs me a little. I prefer my dogs to have had it so good they expect all the things as their due. Nova is the definition of an old soul in a young dog’s body, and she’s more than ready for a calm, easy-going home filled with soft voices, snacks, and a soft place to nap.
