Kellen is a 5-year-old black Lab who was abandoned when the nimrods who owned him left him behind along with a couple of his dog friends. They're all in new homes now but Kellen is still waiting. I'd like to see him go to a real home finally. It's sort of like being picked last for kickball when all your friends have gone to homes and you're still waiting.
This dog thrives with calm. He's not going to be your hiking buddy or chaos coordinator - he's more of a "walk around the backyard and nap in the shade" kind of guy. He's cool with other mellow dogs, but if your dog is the canine version of a frat bro who leads with body slams, Kellen is a hard no. Ditto screaming kids. Calm, non-screechy kids are totally fine.
As it turns out, Kellen has a bonus quirk: he is allergic to chicken. Because of course he is. So he's on salmon-based food and must stay that way unless you enjoy itchy dogs and vet visits. Beyond that, he's totally healthy.
Kellen must have a securely fenced yard. This guy likes the safety and security of boundaries, but really, who doesn't? If you've got a peaceful home, a soft spot for the shy ones, and can promise you won't leave him behind, Kellen's been waiting for you.
