This lovely lady is a 7-year-old, 65-pound English Setter/Lab/probable Great Pyrenees mix who has seen more than her share of hard times. Marcella was abandoned with 14 other hunting dogs and mixes and she was left to figure out the world on her own.
Marcella is shy and will take some patience in a new environment, but once she decides you’re safe, she’s sweet, gentle, and even playful. She’s submissive with other dogs and would thrive in a quiet home with a confident, friendly dog to show her that people can be pretty great. Kids past the “screaming and running everywhere” stage would be perfect for her, and she’s just fine with cats. A fenced yard is a must. What she wants is a nice soft place to hang out and watch the world go by, with wait staff to bring her the occasional snack.
If you’ve got patience, kindness, and a resident dog ready to be her mentor, she’s ready to trade her past for a soft bed, gentle hands, and a forever home. She will make someone an outstanding pet.
