Meet Koda, a four-year-old, 100-pound Lab/Great Pyrenees mix who is equal parts muscle and heart. She’s a big, strong girl who loves to play and will happily turn your yard into her personal playground.
Koda’s ideal home will have a confident but easy-going male dog who enjoys a good romp and knows how to match her energy. She’s far more comfortable with the boys than with other females, but she’s perfectly polite with cats and has great indoor manners once the playtime is over.
Because she’s large, strong, and occasionally forgets that not everyone can withstand a joyful shoulder bump, she’s best suited for kids over 10, or junior lumberjacks in training. A fenced yard is a must (this girl needs space to stretch those long legs), and she’s not cut out for apartment life. People who know and love the flock guardian breeds will love her as she has all the charm of the Pyrenees but the guardian instincts are mellowed by the lab influence. She will do well in a home with moderate activity and basic understanding of what flock guardians do.
