Late night post … Galen

And now your late night post…

Let us discuss the nuance of language and unfortunate misunderstandings. This is Galen. Galen’s name was changed from Giglio to Galen because BFDR staff thought his name was Gigolo. Of the many useless talents I hold*, one of the lesser known ones is that I have a degree in Italian which qualifies me to say “would you like fries with that” in a language that sounds like honey. It is unfortunate that staff misunderstood the Italian name, but it is probably worse because Giglio means lily in Italian and someone (not us) named this burly, stumpy boy after a flower who was then mistaken by staff to be named after a male prostitute. Galen has a lot of name history to live up to.

Galen is a bulldog basset mix. He is a 2 year old, 47 pound, stumpy, slightly brindled boy and he is a sweet, soulful little guy who loves everyone and everything. He is well mannered, easy going and marginally lazy. Seriously, it’s hard to find a flaw with this one, even if he was named after a floral hooker.

*Also, I can count cards, I have an encyclopedic knowledge of Wax Trax era techno, I went to culinary school because my mom said I had zero domestic skills and I have perfect pitch. Those are all my skills. Sorry if you were holding out for something of merit.
